We offer several plumbing packages that’ll train you ready for on site work with a qualification you can be proud of. The main plumbing course provides detailed information and training on pipe laying, pipe joining, installing radiators, fitting bathrooms and fitting kitchens. There are legal regulations in place that prevent you from fully installing or completing any of these tasks without a full certificate. We will merely introduce you to the methods used and then you’ll need to contact an accredited body that’ll provide the paperwork for the skills you learn with us. The main skills we teach are listed below.
We are limited in what we can teach and we must be completely honest. We can teach you how to fit a bathroom but you’ll need certificates elsewhere to handle electrical and gas components. This is very normal in the building trade that lesser qualified people will do the work they can and let a fully qualified installer take over to meet the legal aspects. We teach you what we can, and show you what’s legal to do.
How to join waste pipes
We will show you how to join plastic waste pipes and this is very important for both kitchens and bathrooms because if they leak you’ll make thousands of pounds of damage. Start with the basics and you can’t go wrong.
If your replacing a toilet it can be a messy job. We will show you how to correctly drain and remove a toilet. We will show you how to ensure that the toilet is seal properly and the gasket works making sure no foul odours can escape from the waste pipe.
Fitting Shower Trays
Shower tray fitting and the trap of the shower tray is really important because once fitted and the tiling applied, removal is a costly and time consuming job to put right. We teach you how to test your work before moving on to the next stages and ensure you’ve a quality install.
Fitting the plumbing and traps in kitchens needs careful planning and consideration. We go through all the details which make an install difficult and how to plan for them. We show you how to correctly install pipes behind units and how to join them.
Sinks need to be fitted correctly in order that they do not move and water cannot pass in between the gap. If this could happen, you’ll end up with a nasty smell under your sink. This must be avoided and we show you how to install and correctly seal sinks to work surfaces.
This one is very important, as we just mentioned leaks can cause damage and foul odours. We show you how to fit and how to test your work.
We want to apologise that this course will not lead to a successful position on site as a fully trained plumber but it will help you master the basics ready for when you are willing to take the leap and become a fully qualifies plumber or Corgi registered fitter.
